Any pattern with one ball going over the others can be called 'Tennis'.

[edit] Basic Tennis

The site-swap for this one is just '3', meaning all tosses are Cascade:

Java not available
Two balls are doing a narrow 3 Ball Cascade while one ball is always tossed over that part,
resembling a net with a lob going back and forth over it, and so called "Tennis".

This pattern is the model for the Over or Outside toss, which is used in many patterns.

You can also do this as:

[edit] 423 Tennis

Java not available
One ball always goes Over as a wide '3' while each hand tosses a '4' after it.

This is a synchronous version of the same idea:

[edit] (4,2)(4x,2)(2,4)(2,4x)

...where '2' means hold, '4' means toss and catch with the same hand,
'4x' means catch with the other hand, and '( , )' means at the same time:

Java not available
Starting with two balls in one hand, toss a '4' Column straight up,
and then toss a '4x' Over it to the other hand.
The other hand tosses its '4' straight up, and continues with the '4x' back Over.

This is a silly 2-in-1 version of the same idea:

[edit] (4,2) Tennis

Java not available

[edit] (4x,0)(4,4)(0,4x)(4,4)

This is a serious and faster 2-Up-1-Up version of Tennis:

Java not available
If you think the two Columns look more like a tennis net, then this is 'True Tennis'.

[edit] 3[33]0 Tennis

Here is a way to do strictly "2-Up-1-Up Tennis" with a multiplex toss:

Java not available
With fewer tosses for three balls, it can be easier -- if you can do the "duplex stack".

[edit] Net Game

Here is strikingly difficult variation from Reuben, crossing one of the middle tosses:

Java not available
If you get the toss order wrong, the Over and the crossed-Column will conflict.
