Crossing Tossing

How you cross, when you toss a Cross, is across your center-line,
with the toss, not the path, of the ball.
The following is intended only to show the basic tosses, not possible patterns.

When you are making a crossed toss, something is commonly in the way of it.

Here, the blue ball is being tossed from under an arm that is held up and inward to be out of its way.
That green ball must then be tossed from a stopped position, without the usual down-up swing.
It takes some practice to pop the re-start toss up like that, and make it a good arc across.
The blue ball will usually go straight up, a Column, to be easy for the catch.

Under-arm or 'Arm Cross'

This is the easiest one, and used the most too.

Under-leg or 'Leg Cross', is usually the next one, with two forms.
The figure has no legs to lift up, and cannot bend its back down either, so very roughly:

This is how you would be reaching and timing for under the same-side leg.
The same hand will be doing a re-start toss for this one, after getting back in place for a fast catch.

Some do not find that as easy as using the other-side leg.
On the other side, your body balance is more like walking, but the reach is much farther:

Here, the other hand is moved out of the way beyond where the normal catch is.

Back Toss, or a single 'back cross', is covered more fully at 3 Ball Back Toss:

When you are working on this, it is tempting to toss high to the hand doing the cross for more time for the cross.
Getting back around for that catch is often the hard part.
Because the cross toss takes more time, there is still a re-start toss for the other hand.
