The author also gave the following description of the pattern he was trying for:

The first crossing throw is orbitted by the second before the 'box' throw. It circles the ball heading inside and over the ball, and then heads back outside under. Also, the 'box' throws are all vertical: the '2x' doesn't x, it is thrown up to the hand above it.
