441

The only name for this pattern is the site-swap code: the '4's go up, and the '1' goes across.
Unlike 3 Ball Box, which uses the same tosses, '441' was devised from early site-swap investigations.

Each hand is doing a Two In One Hand pattern, with each side alternating its tosses and sharing a ball underneath.
Each hand, and each ball, is doing the site-swap: "4, 4, 1": up, up, across.
Unlike Box, with two tosses together, the '1' here follows -- very closely, but after -- the '4' on the other side.

Unlike Box, start by tossing a '4' from the hand with two balls,
...then a quick '4' from the hand with one ball,
...then the '1' across with the third ball, to be the second hand's second '4'.

As shown above, the 4's are tossed in the Fountain form.
This is the Reverse Fountain form:

This is using Column tosses:

...making the same four Columns you will make with four balls as "Pistons".

Many variations are named for this pattern:

Slow Shuffle '441'

Java not available
...using a high catch and Slam toss down for the '1'.
Here, there is a Fountain then a Column for hand and ball positions.

Slam '441'

Statue of Liberty '441'

...tossing the '1' up to the high hand.
The animator makes a too-high upper toss, but that is up to you.

'441' Chase

...using the Reverse Fountain form, and adding an Under-arm toss.
These are two of the tosses for Mills Mess.

'441' Mills Mess

Now you are doing an Under-arm '4' toss, and then a Cross-arm toss, both in reverse direction, also like Mills Mess.
